Wrights AME Church 27th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration – January 16, 2017

Synopsis  – Wright’s AME Church hosted its 27th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Commemoration Service. Faith leaders, elected officials, educators and the business community in Elkton, Maryland broke bread together at a full breakfast and then worshiped together. The Annual Message, “All In,” was delivered by Pastor R. Kevin Brown, Sr. In His message, he reminded the congregants that in spite of all Dr. King endured in his quest for civil rights and social change, that Dr. King remained “all in.” Pastor Brown also reminded the congregants that while Dr. King was “all in” for civil rights and social change, Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, was the originator of “all in. But Jesus’ ‘all in’ was not for social change but for soul change.” He used the text John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” (NIV)
